DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, 5th November 2023 for the oral transmission of the Lama Chopa Guru Puja and Kalarupa Torma Offering Ritual (Drugchuma). \nThis oral transmission was formally requested by Tsem Ladrang (the private office of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche) and will be given by His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Phende\, the esteemed abbot emeritus of Shar Gaden Monastery. \n  \nEvent Details\n\nNov 5\, 2023 (Sun)\n10.30 am – 1.30 pm\nKechara Forest Retreat\nFree. RSVP here as seating is limited.\n\n  \nBenefits\nIn the Tibetan Buddhist tradition\, most serious practitioners request oral transmissions of the texts they are studying or practising. An oral transmission plants the blessings of the text being transmitted in the mindstreams of the people in attendance. These blessings empower our spiritual practice so that it eventually fruitions into realisations and attainments. \nDuring the transmission\, the lama recites aloud the text being transmitted. The lama himself must have received the oral transmission faultlessly from his teacher\, who received it from his teacher\, going back in an unbroken lineage to Buddha or the original source of the text. On the part of the attendees\, we must listen to the words of the transmission with full attention\, coupled with the motivation to benefit others. \nIn this manner\, we receive the blessings of the lineage without which we would not be able to reap the results of our practice to their full extent. \n  \nHow to Join\n\nAdmission is free and everyone is welcome. To ensure we have enough seating for all guests\, please RSVP your attendance here.\nYou must be present throughout the entire ceremony. If you leave the hall while the oral transmission is in progress\, it means that you did not receive the transmission.\n\n  \nPrerequisites and Commitments\n\nThere are no pre-requisites to receive this oral transmission. Anyone can attend and admission is free. Kensur Rinpoche has requested attendees not to offer khatas or kuyong (monetary offering) for the transmission.\nThere are no commitments after you receive the oral transmission.\n\n  \nAbout H.E. Kensur Rinpoche Lobsang Phende\nHis Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Lobsang Phende studied at the feet of some of the greatest lineage masters of our tradition — H.H. Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche\, H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and H.E. Kyabje Zemey Rinpoche. He was the lead chanter (umze) of Gaden Shartse Monastery and later became the courageous first abbot of Shar Gaden Monastery. \nAfter retiring from this esteemed position\, Kensur Rinpoche has visited Kechara on multiple occasions\, the first being in 2017 at the request of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. \n
