DESCRIPTION:\n.mark1{ background: #fbeae9; color: #000; font-weight: 300; display: inline-block; padding: 2rem 2rem;On 6th October 2022 (Thursday)\, His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Phende\, the esteemed abbot emeritus of Shar Gaden Monastery\, will be giving the sacred oral transmission of the Lamrim prayer titled An Ornament for the Throats of the Fortunate. \nThis oral transmission was formally requested by Tsem Ladrang (the private office of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche) to support your study of the Lamrim and to aid your spiritual progress. \n  \nEvent Details\n\nOct 6\, 2022 (Thu)\n10.00 am – 12.30 pm\nKechara Forest Retreat\nFree admission\, please RSVP here.\n\n  \nBenefits for attendees\nAccording to Tibetan Buddhist tradition\, most serious practitioners request oral transmissions of the texts they are studying. An oral transmission plants the blessings of the text being transmitted in the mindstreams of the people in attendance. These blessings help us transform our knowledge into actual practice\, and eventually fruition into realisations and attainments. \nIn the case of this Lamrim prayer\, the oral transmission bestows blessings stemming from the original author and the great lineage masters who came after him. This is so that our Lamrim preparatory practices are empowered\, successful and will bear results. \nIt also blesses our mindstream with the powerful potential to understand\, realise and practise the Lamrim successfully. Therefore\, it is highly recommended for anyone who is striving to learn and practise the Lamrim\, and for those who teach the Lamrim. \n  \nThe Lamrim prayer and preparatory practices\nThe Lamrim prayer titled An Ornament for the Throats of the Fortunate was composed by Jampel Lhundrub of Dagpo\, a great lamrim lineage master who was one of H.H. Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche’s principal teachers. This prayer was highly recommended by Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche as it contains an extensive recitation encompassing the entire Lamrim preparatory practices. It is extensive\, powerful and has many blessings. \nThe translation of this prayer can be found at the back of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche’s Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand. The oral transmission is the auspicious recitation of this text by the lama\, His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Phende\, to plant powerful blessings of this prayer in the mindstreams of all present. \nThe Lamrim preparatory practices are meant to set a virtuous motivation\, purify obscurations\, accumulate merits and invoke the blessings of the lineage masters before entering into a formal meditation session on the Lamrim topics. If the preparatory practices are done well\, it ensures that our study and meditation on the Lamrim results in a steady stream of blessings and attainments. \n\n\nThe Six Lamrim Preparatory Practices\n\nCleaning your room and arranging the symbols of enlightened body\, speech and mind.\nObtaining offerings without deceit and arranging them beautifully.\nAdopting the seven-featured sitting position of Vairochana on a comfortable seat\, after which you take refuge\, develop bodhichitta\, and so on\, while “in an especially virtuous frame of mind.”\nPetitioning the merit field.\nOffering the seven-limbed prayer and a world mandala — practices that contain all the key points of accumulation of merit and self-purification.\nFurther petitions\, which follow oral Lamrim instructions\, made in order to further transform our mind.\n\n\n  \nAbout H.E. Kensur Rinpoche Lobsang Phende\nHis Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Lobsang Phende studied at the feet of some of the greatest lineage masters of our tradition — H.H. Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche\, H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and H.E. Kyabje Zemey Rinpoche. He was the lead chanter (umze) of Gaden Shartse Monastery and later became the courageous first abbot of Shar Gaden Monastery. \nAfter retiring from this esteemed position\, Kensur Rinpoche has visited Kechara on multiple occasions\, the first being in 2017 at the request of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. \n  \nPrerequisites and commitments\nThere are no pre-requisites to receive this oral transmission. Anyone can attend and admission is free. If you are attending\, you may wish to offer kuyong (a token monetary offering) to Kensur Rinpoche who will be giving the transmission. \nThere are no commitments after you receive the oral transmission. However\, we encourage you to start learning the Lamrim if you haven’t begun yet. And if you are already studying the Lamrim\, we encourage you to begin formal meditation on the Lamrim topics as you have now received the seeds for spiritual success. \nTo ensure we have enough seating for all guests\, please RSVP your attendance here. \n
